Brucellosis
Brucellosis is an infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Brucella. It primarily affects livestock, such as cattle, goats, and sheep, but can also be transmitted to humans. People usually contract the disease through unpasteurized dairy products, direct contact with infected animals, or inhalation of contaminated aerosols.
Symptoms of brucellosis in humans can include fever, sweats, fatigue, and joint pain. If left untreated, the disease can lead to more severe complications, such as chronic fatigue or infections in organs like the liver and spleen. Diagnosis typically involves blood tests, and treatment usually requires antibiotics.
