Q Fever
Q Fever is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Coxiella burnetii. It primarily affects livestock, such as cattle, sheep, and goats, but can also infect humans. People can contract Q Fever through inhaling contaminated dust or aerosols from animal products, particularly during birthing or handling of infected animals.
Symptoms of Q Fever can range from mild flu-like signs to severe pneumonia or hepatitis. Many people may not show symptoms at all, while others may experience fever, fatigue, and muscle aches. Diagnosis is typically confirmed through blood tests, and treatment usually involves antibiotics.
