Brown Anole
The Brown Anole (Anolis sagrei) is a small lizard native to the Caribbean, particularly the Bahamas and Cuba. It has a slender body, typically measuring 5 to 8 inches in length, and is known for its brown or gray coloration, which helps it blend into its environment. This species is often found in gardens, forests, and urban areas, where it prefers warm, sunny spots.
Brown Anoles are insectivorous, feeding on a variety of small insects and spiders. They are known for their ability to climb and can often be seen basking on tree branches or walls. This lizard is also recognized for its distinctive throat flap, or dewlap, which males use to attract females and establish territory.
