Bronze Statues of Riace
The Bronze Statues of Riace are two ancient Greek bronze sculptures discovered in 1972 off the coast of Riace, Italy. Dating back to the 5th century BCE, these statues represent warriors and are notable for their detailed craftsmanship and realistic features. They are believed to be part of a larger group of statues that once adorned a temple or public space.
The statues, known as Riace A and Riace B, stand approximately 2 meters tall and are celebrated for their dynamic poses and intricate details, such as the textures of their hair and muscles. Today, they are housed in the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, attracting visitors and scholars interested in ancient Greek art and culture.
