Bronchial Examination
A bronchial examination is a medical assessment focused on the bronchi, the large air passages that lead from the trachea to the lungs. This examination typically involves listening to the patient's breath sounds using a stethoscope to identify any abnormalities, such as wheezing or crackles, which may indicate conditions like asthma or bronchitis.
During the examination, the healthcare provider may also ask the patient to perform specific breathing maneuvers. These actions help assess lung function and airflow. Additional tests, such as spirometry, may be conducted to measure how well the lungs are working and to guide further diagnosis or treatment.
