Lung Function Test
A Lung Function Test is a medical assessment that measures how well your lungs are working. It evaluates various aspects of lung performance, including the amount of air you can inhale and exhale, as well as how efficiently oxygen moves into your bloodstream. This test is often used to diagnose conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other respiratory issues.
During the test, you may be asked to breathe into a device called a spirometer. The results help doctors understand your lung capacity and airflow, guiding them in creating a treatment plan if necessary. Regular lung function tests can also monitor the progression of lung diseases over time.
