Broken Heart Syndrome
Broken Heart Syndrome, also known as Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, is a temporary heart condition often triggered by extreme emotional stress. It mimics the symptoms of a heart attack, such as chest pain and shortness of breath, but is not caused by blocked arteries. Instead, it involves a sudden weakening of the heart muscle.
This syndrome can occur after traumatic events, such as the loss of a loved one or a significant life change. Most patients recover fully within weeks, but medical attention is essential to rule out other serious heart conditions.
