Bristletails
Bristletails are small, wingless insects belonging to the order Zygentoma. They are characterized by their elongated bodies and three long, tail-like appendages at the rear. Commonly found in damp environments, bristletails thrive in leaf litter, under rocks, and in homes, where they feed on organic matter like decaying plant material and starches.
These insects are known for their unique movement, which involves rapid, jumping-like motions. Bristletails are often mistaken for silverfish, another wingless insect, but they can be distinguished by their longer tails and different body shape. They play a role in the ecosystem by helping to decompose organic material.
