Boudica was a queen of the Iceni tribe in ancient Britain during the first century AD. She is best known for leading a major uprising against the Roman Empire around 60-61 AD. After the death of her husband, who had been an ally of the Romans, Boudica sought to reclaim her tribe's rights and territory.
Her rebellion united several tribes and resulted in the destruction of Roman settlements, including Camulodunum (modern-day Colchester), Londinium (London), and Verulamium (St. Albans). Despite initial successes, Boudica's forces were ultimately defeated by the Romans, and she became a symbol of resistance against oppression.
