Bolo Bao
Bolo Bao, also known as pineapple bun, is a popular pastry in Hong Kong and other parts of China. Despite its name, it does not contain pineapple; the name refers to the sweet, crunchy topping that resembles the texture of a pineapple. The bun is soft and fluffy, typically made with a sweet dough that is enriched with butter and milk.
The topping is made from a mixture of flour, sugar, and butter, giving it a golden-brown color when baked. Bolo Bao is often enjoyed as a snack or breakfast item, sometimes served with a slice of butter inside for added richness.
