Bodoland Territorial Region
The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) is an administrative region in the northeastern state of Assam, India. Established in January 2020, it was created to provide greater autonomy to the Bodo people, an indigenous ethnic group. The region includes the districts of Baksa, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, and Udalguri, and is governed by the Bodoland Territorial Council.
The BTR was formed following a peace agreement between the Indian government and various Bodo groups, aimed at resolving long-standing issues related to identity, land rights, and political representation. This region is known for its rich cultural heritage, diverse wildlife, and scenic landscapes, making it an important area for both local communities and conservation efforts.
