Black Lung
Black Lung, also known as coal workers' pneumoconiosis, is a serious lung disease caused by long-term exposure to coal dust. When coal miners inhale fine particles of coal dust, it can accumulate in the lungs, leading to inflammation and scarring. This condition can result in breathing difficulties and other health complications.
The disease primarily affects those who work in the coal mining industry, but it can also impact others exposed to coal dust. Symptoms may include chronic cough, shortness of breath, and chest pain. Prevention measures, such as proper ventilation and protective equipment, are essential to reduce the risk of developing Black Lung.
