Black Bart, whose real name was Charles Earl Boles, was a notorious American stagecoach robber in the late 1800s. Active primarily in California, he became famous for his daring heists and for leaving behind poetic notes at the scenes of his crimes. His unique style and clever tactics earned him a reputation as a gentleman bandit. Boles was born in 1829 and began his criminal career after moving to California during the Gold Rush. He was eventually captured in 1883 and sentenced to six years in prison. After his release, he disappeared from the public eye, and his fate remains a mystery.
