Bishnu Prasad Rabha was an influential Indian artist, writer, and cultural activist from Assam. Born on 20th March 1909, he played a significant role in promoting Assamese culture and literature. Rabha was also known for his contributions to the Indian independence movement and his efforts in advocating for the rights of the Bodo people. In addition to his literary work, Rabha was a talented painter and musician. He founded the Bishnu Rabha Sangeet Academy to nurture young artists and musicians. His legacy continues to inspire many in the fields of art, literature, and social activism in Assam and beyond.
