Bielski Partisans
The Bielski Partisans were a group of Jewish resistance fighters during World War II, formed in 1942 in the forests of Belarus. Led by the Bielski brothers—Tuvia, Asael, and Zus—this group aimed to protect Jewish refugees from the Nazi regime and to sabotage German operations. They successfully saved over a thousand Jews by providing shelter and organizing escape routes.
Operating primarily in the Narew Forest, the Bielski Partisans engaged in guerrilla warfare against German forces and collaborated with other resistance groups. Their efforts not only focused on military actions but also on preserving Jewish culture and community during the Holocaust.
