Tuvia Bielski
Tuvia Bielski was a Jewish partisan leader during World War II, known for his efforts to save Jewish lives in Nazi-occupied Europe. He was born in 1906 in what is now Belarus and became the leader of the Bielski partisans, a group that sheltered and protected Jews fleeing from the Holocaust. Under his leadership, the group managed to save over 1,200 Jews by providing them with food, shelter, and safety in the forests.
