Betty Williams
Betty Williams is a Northern Irish peace activist known for her efforts to promote reconciliation during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Born on May 22, 1943, in Belfast, she co-founded the Community of Peace People in 1976, which aimed to bring together people from different communities to foster understanding and peace.
In recognition of her work, Williams was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1976, alongside fellow activist Mairead Corrigan. Her activism has inspired many around the world, and she continues to advocate for peace and non-violence in various conflicts globally.
