Benign Liver Tumors
Benign liver tumors are non-cancerous growths in the liver that do not spread to other parts of the body. Common types include hemangiomas, which are made up of blood vessels, and focal nodular hyperplasia, which is characterized by a central scar. These tumors are often discovered incidentally during imaging tests for other conditions.
Most benign liver tumors do not cause symptoms and usually require no treatment. However, if they grow large enough, they may lead to discomfort or complications. Regular monitoring through ultrasound or CT scans is often recommended to ensure they remain stable.
