Hepatic Adenoma
Hepatic adenoma is a benign tumor of the liver, often found in young women who use oral contraceptives. These tumors are usually asymptomatic but can cause abdominal pain or discomfort if they grow large.
Diagnosis typically involves imaging techniques like ultrasound or MRI, and treatment may include monitoring or surgical removal if the adenoma is large or symptomatic. Hepatic adenomas are generally not cancerous, but there is a small risk of complications, such as bleeding or transformation into malignant tumors, particularly in patients with underlying liver disease or those who consume alcohol.
