The Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway is one of the longest high-speed rail lines in the world, stretching approximately 1,318 kilometers (819 miles). It connects two major cities in China, Beijing and Shanghai, allowing passengers to travel between them in about 4.5 hours. The railway was officially opened in June 2011 and has significantly reduced travel time compared to traditional trains.
