Edward of Portugal
Edward of Portugal was a king who ruled from 1433 to 1438. He was the son of King John I of Portugal and Philippa of Lancaster. Edward is known for his efforts to strengthen the Portuguese monarchy and for his involvement in the early stages of the Age of Discoveries, a period marked by exploration and maritime expansion.
His reign was relatively short, lasting only five years, and he faced challenges such as conflicts with the Castilian crown. Edward's legacy includes his commitment to the Order of Aviz, a military and religious order, which played a significant role in Portugal's history.
