Beatrice Of Provence
Beatrice of Provence was a noblewoman born around 1234 in Provence, France. She was the daughter of Raymond Berengar IV, Count of Provence, and Beatrice of Savoy. Beatrice became Queen of France by marrying King Louis IX in 1234, strengthening ties between Provence and the French crown.
As queen, Beatrice played a significant role in the political landscape of her time. She was known for her piety and support of the Catholic Church. Beatrice and Louis IX had eleven children, including Philip III of France, who succeeded his father. She passed away in 1275.
