Bearded Seal
The Bearded Seal is a large marine mammal found in the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. It is known for its distinctive whiskers, which resemble a beard, and can grow up to 2.5 meters (8 feet) in length. Bearded seals primarily inhabit ice-covered waters and are excellent swimmers, using their strong foreflippers to navigate through the sea.
These seals primarily feed on fish, crustaceans, and other marine organisms. They are also an important food source for predators like polar bears and walruses. Bearded seals are known for their vocalizations, which they use to communicate, especially during the breeding season.
