Battle of Tewkesbury
The Battle of Tewkesbury was fought on May 4, 1471, during the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars in England. This battle was a significant conflict between the Lancastrians, who supported the claim of Henry VI, and the Yorkists, led by Edward IV. The Yorkists achieved a decisive victory, which greatly weakened the Lancastrian cause.
Following the battle, many Lancastrian leaders were killed or captured, including Prince Edward, the son of Henry VI. The defeat effectively ended the Lancastrian resistance, leading to the consolidation of Yorkist power in England and paving the way for Edward IV's reign.
