Battle of Talas
The Battle of Talas took place in 751 CE between the forces of the Arab Abbasid Caliphate and the Tang Dynasty of China. This significant conflict occurred near the Talas River in present-day Kyrgyzstan. The battle was primarily fought over control of trade routes and influence in Central Asia.
The outcome of the battle resulted in a decisive victory for the Abbasids, which halted Chinese expansion into the region. This event also facilitated the spread of Islam and paper-making technology from China to the Islamic world, influencing cultural and economic developments in the centuries that followed.
