Battle of Arsuf
The Battle of Arsuf took place on September 7, 1191, during the Third Crusade. It was fought between the forces of the Christian king Richard the Lionheart and the Muslim leader Saladin. The battle occurred near the town of Arsuf, located along the coast of present-day Israel. Richard aimed to secure a route to Jerusalem while Saladin sought to stop the Crusaders' advance.
The battle was marked by intense cavalry charges and strategic maneuvers. Richard's troops, despite being outnumbered, managed to hold their ground and ultimately achieved a decisive victory. This success bolstered the morale of the Crusaders and allowed them to continue their campaign in the region.
