Battle of Anegawa
The Battle of Anegawa took place in 1570 during Japan's Sengoku period. It was fought between the forces of Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu against the Asakura and Asai clans. The battle occurred near the Anegawa River in present-day Shiga Prefecture, and it was significant in consolidating Oda Nobunaga's power in the region.
The conflict arose from territorial disputes and alliances. Nobunaga's forces, numbering around 30,000, faced approximately 20,000 troops from the Asakura and Asai clans. The battle ended in a decisive victory for Nobunaga and Ieyasu, further weakening the opposition and paving the way for Nobunaga's eventual dominance in Japan.
