Battle Of Mohács
The Battle of Mohács took place on August 29, 1526, between the forces of the Kingdom of Hungary and the Ottoman Empire. The battle was a significant conflict during the Ottoman-Habsburg wars, where the Ottomans, led by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, decisively defeated the Hungarian army commanded by King Louis II. This defeat marked a turning point in Hungarian history.
As a result of the battle, the Ottoman Empire expanded its influence in Central Europe, leading to the partition of Hungary. The loss also contributed to the decline of the Kingdom of Hungary and the eventual establishment of Ottoman rule over much of the region for over a century.
