Batting Statistics
Batting statistics are numerical measures used to evaluate a baseball player's performance at the plate. Common statistics include batting average, which shows the percentage of hits a player gets from their total at-bats, and on-base percentage, which measures how often a player reaches base through hits, walks, or being hit by a pitch. Other important stats include home runs and runs batted in (RBIs), which indicate a player's ability to score runs.
These statistics help teams and fans assess a player's effectiveness and contribution to the game. By analyzing batting statistics, coaches can make informed decisions about lineups and strategies, while fans can better appreciate the skills of their favorite players, such as Babe Ruth or Ted Williams.
