Batsman's Crease
The Batsman's Crease is a line marked on the cricket field, located 4 feet from the stumps at each end of the pitch. It is crucial for determining whether a batsman is safe from being run out. When a batsman is inside this crease, they cannot be dismissed by a direct hit on the stumps.
In addition to the main crease, there is also a Popping Crease, which is an extension of the Batsman's Crease. This area allows the batsman to ground their bat or body to be considered safe. Both creases are essential for maintaining fair play in the game of cricket.
