Bangsamoro Autonomous Region
The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BAR) is an autonomous region in the southern Philippines, established in 2019. It was created to provide greater self-governance to the Bangsamoro people, who are primarily Muslim. The region was formed through the Bangsamoro Organic Law, which aimed to address historical injustices and promote peace in the area.
BAR includes several provinces and cities, such as Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, and Sulu. The regional government has its own parliament and is responsible for various local matters, including education, health, and infrastructure. This autonomy is intended to empower the local population and foster development.
