Balthazar (King)
Balthazar is traditionally recognized as one of the three wise men, or Magi, who visited the newborn Jesus in Bethlehem. He is often depicted as a king from Ethiopia or Arabia, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. His story is found in the Christian tradition, particularly in the Gospel of Matthew.
In art and literature, Balthazar is frequently portrayed as a figure of wisdom and generosity. His visit symbolizes the recognition of Jesus' significance beyond the Jewish community, highlighting the universal nature of his message. Balthazar's legacy continues to be celebrated in various cultures during the Epiphany season.
