Ball Court
A Ball Court is a rectangular area used for playing various ball games, often found in ancient Mesoamerican cultures, such as the Maya and Aztec. These courts typically feature sloped walls and a central playing area where teams would compete to score points by getting a rubber ball through stone rings.
In addition to being a sports venue, ball courts held significant cultural and religious importance. They were often associated with rituals and ceremonies, reflecting the social and political life of the community. The games played in these courts could symbolize themes of life, death, and the cosmos.
