Balkars
The Balkars are a Turkic ethnic group primarily residing in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic of Russia. They speak the Balkar language, which is part of the Northwest Caucasian language family. The Balkars have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, and crafts, reflecting their historical roots in the region.
Historically, the Balkars have faced various challenges, including deportation during the Stalin era in the 1940s. Despite these hardships, they have maintained their cultural identity and continue to celebrate their traditions through festivals and community gatherings.
