Baldwin II
Baldwin II was a medieval king who ruled the Latin Empire of Constantinople from 1228 until his death in 1131. He was the son of Baldwin I, the first emperor of the Latin Empire, and became emperor after the death of his cousin, Henry of Flanders. His reign was marked by challenges, including conflicts with the Byzantine Empire and internal struggles within the Latin states.
During his rule, Baldwin II sought to strengthen the empire's position and recover lost territories. He faced financial difficulties and relied on support from Western Europe, particularly from France and Venice. His reign ended when he was captured by the Nicaean Empire, leading to the eventual decline of the Latin Empire.
