Bakiga
The Bakiga are an ethnic group primarily found in the southwestern region of Uganda, particularly in the Kabale District. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional music, dance, and crafts. The Bakiga primarily engage in agriculture, cultivating crops such as potatoes, maize, and beans.
The Bakiga language, also called Rukiga, is part of the Bantu language family. The community has a strong sense of identity and values, often centered around family and communal ties.
