Bakheng Hill
Bakheng Hill is a prominent hill located in Cambodia, near the famous Angkor Wat temple complex. Standing at about 65 meters high, it offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area, making it a popular spot for visitors. The hill is home to the Bakheng Temple, a significant archaeological site built in the late 9th century dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
The temple is constructed in a pyramid shape and features five tiers, symbolizing the sacred mountain Meru in Hindu cosmology. Bakheng Hill is often visited during sunset, as the view of the sun setting over the Angkor landscape is breathtaking. The site is accessible by foot or by elephant rides, adding to the unique experience for tourists.
