Bai ethnic group
The Bai ethnic group is one of the 55 officially recognized ethnic minorities in China. Primarily residing in Yunnan Province, particularly around Dali, the Bai people have a rich cultural heritage that includes unique traditions, language, and festivals. They are known for their beautiful architecture, especially the traditional white-washed houses with black roofs.
The Bai people primarily engage in agriculture, with rice and vegetables being staple crops. They also have a strong tradition of craftsmanship, particularly in tie-dyeing and pottery. The Bai language belongs to the Sino-Tibetan language family, and many Bai people also speak Mandarin Chinese.
