Baganda People
The Baganda people are the largest ethnic group in Uganda, primarily residing in the central region around Lake Victoria. They speak the Luganda language and have a rich cultural heritage that includes traditional music, dance, and crafts. The Baganda are known for their strong social structure, which is organized around clans and family ties.
Historically, the Baganda established the Kingdom of Buganda, one of the most influential kingdoms in Uganda. The kingdom has a well-defined monarchy, with the Kabaka (king) playing a significant role in cultural and political life. The Baganda are also known for their agricultural practices, particularly growing crops like bananas and coffee.
