Baby Doe Tabor
Baby Doe Tabor was born as Elizabeth McCourt in 1854 in Wisconsin. She became known for her marriage to Horace Tabor, a wealthy silver mine owner in Colorado. Their relationship was controversial due to Tabor's previous marriage, and they faced social ostracism.
After Horace Tabor lost his fortune in the 1890s silver crash, Baby Doe struggled financially. She lived in a small cabin near the Matchless Mine, which her husband had once owned. Despite her hardships, she remained a symbol of resilience and loyalty until her death in 1935.
