Horace Tabor
Horace Tabor was a prominent American businessman and politician in the late 19th century, known for his role in the Colorado mining industry. Born in 1830 in Vermont, he moved to Colorado during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush and became a successful miner and entrepreneur, amassing significant wealth through his investments in silver mines.
Tabor served as the mayor of Leadville, Colorado, and later as the lieutenant governor of Colorado. He is often remembered for his extravagant lifestyle and his involvement in the construction of the Tabor Opera House, a symbol of his wealth and influence during the mining boom.
