Babinski Reflex
The Babinski Reflex is a neurological response observed in infants and some adults when the sole of the foot is stroked. In infants, the big toe extends upward while the other toes fan out. This reflex is a normal part of development and typically disappears by the age of two as the nervous system matures.
In adults, the presence of the Babinski Reflex can indicate neurological issues, particularly in the central nervous system. If the reflex is observed in adults, it may suggest damage to the corticospinal tract, which is responsible for voluntary movement.
