Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is a self-governing administrative region administered by Pakistan. It is located in the northern part of the country, bordered by Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir to the east and Gilgit-Baltistan to the north. AJK covers an area of about 13,297 square kilometers and has a diverse landscape, including mountains, valleys, and rivers.
The region was established in 1947 after the partition of British India and has its own government, which operates under the framework of the Constitution of Pakistan.
