Ayman Nour
Ayman Nour is an Egyptian politician and activist known for his role in advocating for democratic reforms in Egypt. He founded the Ghad Party in 2004, which aimed to promote political change and civil liberties. Nour gained international attention when he ran against Hosni Mubarak in the 2005 presidential elections, becoming one of the first challengers to the long-standing regime.
In 2005, Nour was arrested and later sentenced to five years in prison on charges of forgery, which many viewed as politically motivated. After his release in 2009, he continued to be involved in political activism and has remained a prominent figure in discussions about democracy and human rights in Egypt.
