Augusto Odone
Augusto Odone was an Italian-American economist and a prominent figure known for his work in medical research. He gained international recognition for his efforts to develop a treatment for his son, Michele Odone, who suffered from a rare genetic disorder called adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD).
In the early 1990s, Augusto and his wife, Michaela Odone, created a dietary therapy involving a special oil called Lorenzo's Oil, which aimed to slow the progression of ALD. Their dedication and innovative approach brought attention to the condition and inspired further research in the field of genetic disorders.
