Audax
Audax is a type of long-distance cycling event that emphasizes endurance and self-sufficiency. Participants, known as "randonneurs," ride predetermined routes that can range from 200 to 1,200 kilometers. The goal is to complete the distance within a set time limit, often 20 to 90 hours, depending on the distance.
These events are not races; instead, they focus on personal achievement and camaraderie among cyclists. Riders must navigate their own routes and manage their supplies, making it a test of both physical and mental stamina. Audax events are organized worldwide, with many cyclists participating in the Paris-Brest-Paris challenge, one of the most famous Audax rides.
