Atacama people
The Atacama people are indigenous groups primarily located in the Atacama Desert region of northern Chile. They have a rich cultural heritage, with traditions that include agriculture, herding, and artisanal crafts. Their history is closely tied to the harsh desert environment, which has shaped their way of life and survival strategies.
Historically, the Atacama people have faced challenges due to colonization and modernization. Today, they continue to preserve their cultural identity while adapting to contemporary society. Efforts are being made to recognize their rights and promote their languages, such as Kunza, which is an important aspect of their cultural revival.
