Asteroid Belts
An asteroid belt is a region in space where numerous small rocky bodies, known as asteroids, orbit the Sun. The most famous asteroid belt is located between the orbits of the planets Mars and Jupiter. These asteroids vary in size and composition, with some being as small as a pebble and others as large as hundreds of kilometers across.
Asteroid belts are remnants from the early solar system, formed from material that never coalesced into a planet. They provide valuable insights into the formation and evolution of planetary systems, making them important for scientific research and exploration.
