The Kuiper Belt is a region of the Solar System located beyond the orbit of Neptune, filled with small icy bodies and dwarf planets. It is similar to the Asteroid Belt but is much larger and more massive, containing objects like Pluto and Eris.
Discovered in the 1990s, the Kuiper Belt extends from about 30 to 55 astronomical units (AU) from the Sun. This area is crucial for understanding the formation of the Solar System and the characteristics of its outer regions, as it holds many remnants from its early history.
