Asteroid 764
Asteroid 764, also known as 764 Gunhild, is a large asteroid located in the Main Belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Discovered on March 1, 1913, by the astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth, it is classified as a C-type asteroid, which means it is composed mainly of carbonaceous materials.
With a diameter of approximately 80 kilometers, 764 Gunhild is one of the larger asteroids in the Main Belt. Its surface is dark and reflects very little sunlight, making it challenging to observe. The asteroid orbits the Sun every 4.5 years, contributing to our understanding of the early solar system.
